Day 79 - March 20 - Take A Hike

I went on a little hike at Pratt's Farm. It was around noonish though so I had to cut it short and get home and ready for work. At one point I took a side path up a hill and I think I startled something...was thinking it might have been one or more coyotes but I never saw anything. I heard a weird noise, not quite a bark...not sure how to describe it...almost like a startled grunt, and a rustling in the trees. It was an area of thick pines, so visibility was nil. So the rest of my hike I kept looking back and taking pictures behind me. I felt like maybe I was being watched. Nothing showing up in any of the photos so far though.
Note: A friend told me deer will make a grunt noise when startled...as will bears, but we have no bears here as far as I know. lol

Hanging on, or getting a grip, or ? - 3/19

I've shot this before...I'm pretty sure my son Jason has too. It's hard to walk by it and not want to as it's kind of fascinating to see the way the roots spread out as if the tree is consuming the small hill it's growing on.

mahhhch 18...getting caught up.

What I like best about these pictures is that they actually were taken on 3/18, not just thereabouts as many have been lately.

water supply - assawompsett pond, lakeville, ma
In Irfanview, when you save a photo in grayscale (by ticking the checkbox to do so as you're saving), it says "Don't Forget!". If you forget, every photo you save after that will be saved in grayscale until you remember again to uncheck the box.

swamp across from assawompsett (i'll find the name) at tamarack park, lakeville, ma
Well, I'm pretty sure I remembered (eventually), and I know I intentionally saved some in grayscale. But I think out of these three, only the one below was intentional. I'm very happy with how the above two came out though.

these vines would even confuse george of the jungle

Wareham St. Herring Run - Day 75 (roughly 3/16)

At one of the town's two herring runs. This is just a little upstream from where that bench was, in an earlier post.

Statues 3/15 - Day 74 I think

One of the reasons I love to walk around in cemeteries is because of the statues. They just fascinate me and I love to try to get good photos of them. Sometimes that is really a challenge.
